What you can expect

Within our unit Smart Innovations & Technologies you will serve as a key team member of the newly formed Industry 4.0 Forecasting Team in helping to define and develop complex forecasting models for a period of 3-6 months.

·  You understand the technical requirements and work closely with the internal development teams & business Partners.
·  You will demonstrate your ability to communicate and explain complex forecasting models (inputs, outputs, rationale, improvement) and provide recommendations to the Management.
·  You will define, develop and modify state of the art statistical time series models for forecasts based on existing and new data.
·  You will work together with the internal team on testing various models in the BASF high performance computing space.
·  You will bring in your innovative modelling ideas and implement these in a real business Environment.

What we expect

·  You are about to complete your masters or PhD and achieved above-average results in your study program in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Business Mathematics or other related quantitative discipline.
·  You have knowledge of statistical modelling specifically - Time Series Forecasting (e.g., VAR, VECM, VARIMA etc).
·  You are experienced in using the programming language R, either in an academic or in an industry context.
·  You have a high affinity for digital technologies and state of the art analytical methods.
·  In addition, you are able to present your results capably and vividly in English.
