Battery Materials and Battery Recycling are key focus areas for BASF. At BASF’s Schwarzheide site, near Dresden, first plants in these exciting new fields are already constructed. At our Schwarzheide site we also produce polyurethane base products, foams, coatings, engineering plastics, finishing chemicals and fungicides. RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Project Engineering Europe unit offers demand-optimized engineering services for our internal customers at the BASF Group sites in Germany and other European countries. The Battery Materials Competency Center is driving strategic and innovative engineering measures for the Catalysts division in the Battery Materials Industry for developments into worldwide production plants. 

·  In your new role, you will be responsible for EHS management in large plant engineering projects (LCP) as well as establishing and shaping the safety culture in order to avoid safety events at the construction and assembly sites.
·  In addition, you organize the safety work of the projects in a team to implement the EHS goals and are actively involved in various overarching work teams at the Schwarzheide site, the Europe region and worldwide.
·  You select EHS consultants for the supervised LCP and guide them.
·  Furthermore, you support the Construction Manager in the preparation of the Construction EHS plan and strengthen the safety culture through your on-site monitoring.
·  The further development and creation of EHS reports, tools and requirements is also within your area of responsibility as well as the drafting of contracts and the selection of contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  completed Master's degree in chemistry, process engineering, mechanical engineering or civil engineering
·  certified specialist for occupational safety and several years of professional experience in occupational safety or alternatively degree as a safety engineer
·  business fluent German and English skills 
·  leadership skills, determination and organizational skills
·  strong team and argumentation skills and social competence
·  mobility preferred
