BASF invites PhD and Postdoc candidates, with potential to take leading roles in the future, to a week-long International Summer Course in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Candidates should be working in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, process engineering or STEM fields with interests in digital technologies.
Important notice: The registration and participation at International Summer Course 2024 does not result in a work contract for an internship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The course is an opportunity to:
· Get insights into industry, BASF and experience the worldwide network of innovation
· Learn about methods, strategies and digital technologies in research and development, engineering, production, marketing, corporate strategy and management
· Meet participants from around the world, BASF's scientists, engineers and executives
· Open up a personal network between academia and industry
QUALIFICATIONS
· PhD and Postdoc candidates of the following areas:
· Chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, process engineering or STEM fields with interest in digital technologies
· Please send your application including following documents:
· Motivational letter (max. 1 page)
· Abstract of your research work or project (max. 1 page)

The BASF International Summer Course has a long tradition: Organised since 1949, it is designed to give young talents from around the world an authentic insight into the company's working environment and to facilitate networking opportunities.
This year's event will take place from August 4th to 10th, 2024, in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about a variety of research and technology areas, as well as about strategy and innovation management. The program aims to give them a comprehensive understanding of BASF's operations and the opportunity to interact with BASF colleagues. In small groups, participants will visit labs and offices to get an idea of what it is like to be a lab team leader, chemical engineer or data scientist. A guided tour of the site and plant visits will provide a deeper understanding of the Verbund site concept.
