Within the Group, you will join the Group Underwriting Office department (GUO)
The newly created Global Chief Underwriting Office is accountable for establishing, enabling and driving profit and growth through Product Underwriting Strategy, Portfolio Design and Technical Underwriting Excellence in partnership with the AXA Entities, for both Commercial and Retail, through:

Within this Department, you will be part of the team P&C Retail Underwriting (UW).
Your job and daily missions:
The purpose of the P&C Retail Underwriting expert position is to drive technical excellence in retail underwriting with entities worldwide, supporting them in achieving growth and profitability. Your role will be articulated on the following main dimensions:
Technical Underwriting Authority:
- Structuring guidelines, limits & derogations, bringing technical expertise and local specificities.
- Handling “out-of-boundaries” local UW cases referred to the group.
- Performing reviews to control UW adherence, with clear recommendations to be presented at top management.
Performance Measurement & Enhancement:
- Steering markets performance, identifying deviations and ensuring global supervision.
- Launching / monitoring local recovery programs.
- Engaging with entities and follow their business activities
- Providing recommendations for technical improvements.
Underwriting Product Strategy:
- Driving strategic projects aimed at better address our UW approach (NatCAT, Electric Vehicles, …)
- Utilizing internal and external data, including innovative technologies, for underwriting purposes.
The employee will also be identified as key contact for defined Entities / Markets throughout the world and maintaining regular contact with them to develop the relationship, identify and anticipate topics that are likely to evolve as local key concerns.
Main Figures:
- 20+ countries / entities as well as 2 regional hubs (European Market, International Markets).
- €17bn of revenues in scope for P&C Retail business.
- 70+ requests for Underwriting non-authorized business per year, representing GWP ~€2bn.
Context:
The P&C Retail business is a core pillar of the Group in terms of both Underlying Earnings (>33% of total) and customer base (20m+). Although each market AXA operates in has its own dynamics, regulations and challenges, the fundamental requirements and propositions for the retail business are similar, covering at large motor, home and travel insurance.

Qualifications :
Technical & Soft Skills:
· Strong & proven analytical and concise communication.
· Autonomous, assertive and strong capacity to influence
· Ability to work in network, with tight deadlines, team spirit & adaptability.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Strong written & oral communication skills.
· Taste for identifying the explicit & implicit rules of the different insurance markets.
· English: Oral & written communication skills to easily interact in an international environment.
· Coding & Data Science Knowledge is a plus
Background & Experience:
· Strong and Proven Mathematical skills (Master’s in actuarial, Statistics, Engineer, Business Schools, …)
· Solid P&C Retail business knowledge with at least 3 years of experience in UW / Pricing
