Following recent internal promotion, we are looking for a dedicated Underwriting Team Manager to lead and support our fantastic North Inspection underwriting team. This role offers the right candidate the opportunity to help shape the next phase of our journey.

This is an excellent position for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is looking for the next step in their people leadership and operational management career. You will have the opportunity to drive performance, coach and develop colleagues and bring a positive mindset to every opportunity presented.

The role is based in Manchester and will report into the AEIS National Operations Manager.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £50,000 per year.

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

The right candidate will be a strong operational team leader who will work within an established team of Engineering Inspection underwriters:

  • Taking ownership of day-to-day operational results
  • Driving continuous improvement
  • Taking accountability for ensuring delivery of a high standard of service to both external and internal customers

Essential Skills

Leadership:

  • Experience of leading a team, monitoring performance and ensuring your team is focused on the key challenges delivering exceptional service.
  • Accountable – a track record of owning and delivering on decisions, seeing them through.
  • Enjoy interacting with others, building strong internal and external relationships and have excellent communication skills to drive and foster a positive team culture.
  • Confident leveraging data and analytics to inform decisions and drive the best commercial outcome.
  • You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and get a sense of achievement meeting goals and targets.
  • Digitally curious – willing and able to embrace new and emerging technology.
  • Evidence of personal and professional development and commitment to undertake continued professional development.

Operational/Technical Management:

You should have experience to effectively prioritise and organise work to maximise opportunities and deliver the business result by:

  • Empowering your team to operate utilising best practice in operational efficiency.
  • Enabling your team to operate to best advantage by ensuring technical training, authority level advancement and underwriting capability is maximised.
  • Monitoring and reporting of relevant KPIs
  • Positively roll out new processes and enthusiastically support change and drive morale as required.

Desirable Skills

  • Inspection and or Insurance experience is an advantage.
