We are looking for an Underwriter, Professional Indemnity based in London
 
Your Team 
Allianz Commercial offers a suite of financial lines insurance solutions specifically designed to address the liabilities of companies, managers and professionals in today’s increasingly litigious and demanding business world. From specialist centers across the globe, we provide financial lines insurance for companies ranging from multi-nationals to smaller businesses - including a range of specialist solutions for Financial Institutions - and for individual directors and managers. And we pride ourselves on our flexibility, adjusting our underwriting to match the needs of our clients.  

 

The Impact You Will Have
Based in London and reporting to the Head of Professional Indemnity, you will work closely with clients and brokers to develop personalised solutions as well as developing new relationships. You will be responsible for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet UK and International Professional Indemnity targets. Your responsibilities also include negotiating participation, pricing and terms & conditions, acquiring new business and retaining existing business. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

·  Underwrite in line with Professional Indemnity governance framework - e.g. Underwriting Authorities, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles 
·  Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception 
·  Drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including Distribution, Risk Consulting, Claims, Operations 
·  Contribute to the development and execution of the UK and International Underwriting strategy for Professional Indemnity 
·  Create and maintain positive relationships with key producers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers) 
·  Focus on developing and building out our multinational proposition

What You’ll Bring to the Role

·  Solid experience as an Underwriter, Broker or relevant equivalent in the Professional Indemnity sector 
·  Experience underwriting profitable business in the Professional Indemnity segment of Mid or large corporate international insurance  
·  Recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level. You will be well established within the market 
·  Specialised understanding of UK & International/ local Professional Indemnity insurance markets and competitor landscape 
·  Capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective 
·  Good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework 
·  Ability to design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts. 
·  Fluent English language skills
