About the Job 

 

As a Test Automation Architect, you will play a crucial role in our Agile Transformation, providing exceptional services to our customers and enhancing our system landscape. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and enabling our internal test automation platform, focusing on both functional and non-functional domains, including load and performance testing. Your expertise will empower our agile delivery teams to produce efficient, high-quality test automation scripts across various testing domains. Additionally, you will support, coach, and train test engineers in the effective use of test automation tools and processes in their daily work

 

What you do

 

  • Integral member of the Testing Tools team responsible for developing and enabling diverse testing solutions, focusing on enhancing the open-source-based test application framework using Java and tools like Selenium, Rest Assured, JUnit5, JMeter, Gatling, Grafana, and Dynatrace.
  • Conduct analyses of current test automation maturity levels across product and services teams, defining and standardizing test automation processes, tools, and frameworks to improve and harmonize the platform.
  • Provide hands-on support for successful implementation and integration of test automation solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, and DevOps.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in functional, load, and performance test automation, evaluating and adopting new technologies to enhance testing capabilities, including AI-based solutions for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Train and coach test automation engineers on best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, and developing comprehensive documentation and guidelines for consistency.
  • Expertise in agile testing methodologies and integrating test frameworks into existing software development landscapes, with proficiency in Java, JavaScript, SQL, and test automation tools such as Selenium, Rest Assured, JUnit5, Cucumber, Playwright, JMeter, and Gatling.
  • Strong understanding of container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, proficiency in using Jira and ScriptRunner, and knowledge of observability tools and practices, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills to collaborate effectively and resolve performance bottlenecks.

 

What you bring

 

  • 5+ years of experience in practicing relevant skills, with deep knowledge of non-functional test automation tools and frameworks like JMeter and Gatling, and experience in planning, designing, and implementing test activities, defect analysis, and management, UI and API testing.
  • Passion for agile, lean, and DevOps mindset, with practical experience in agile methodologies such as SAFE and XP.
  • Experience integrating testing frameworks and pipelines into existing software processes landscapes, including CI/CD, JIRA, Elk Stack, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
  • Strong understanding of Java/OOP concepts, with at least 3 years of experience in developing Java applications using Selenium or other Java-based test frameworks.
  • Good understanding of relational data models and SQL, with optional experience in database administration, ideally with PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge and experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, and basic understanding of business processes in the insurance industry.
  • Effective communicator and ambassador for the established testing toolstack, demonstrating open-mindedness, motivation, self-dependence, responsibility, and strong communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
