The primary purpose of this role is to lead and deploy injury management practices and programs, to support the Insurance for New South Wales and Nominal Insurer teams in consistently achieving Return to Work, Customer Satisfaction and Medical Expense Control business targets, and to provide injury management support and advice to Claims Operation.

 

About the role

  • Providing leadership to the Return to Work (RTW) Specialist team.
  • Implementing strategies and programs that are contributing to meeting or exceeding annual Return to Work (RTW), Customer Satisfaction, and Medical Expense Control business targets for the Nominal Insurer and iNSW teams.
  • Identifying opportunities to achieve expected Medical Spend targets and working with Claims Service Managers to implement recommended strategies.
  • Identifying public and private sector employer practices that are negatively impacting RTW and collaborating with the RTW Manager to develop strategies that are reducing claim durations.
  • Implementing claims management strategies that are assisting workers in achieving improved RTW durations for primary and secondary psychological injuries.
  • Working collaboratively with claims teams to build business awareness of injury management processes and contractual requirements, driving performance improvement.
  • External stakeholder management and collaboration to drive return to work strategies and practises.

 

About you

  • Experience in injury management relating to occupational rehabilitation, claims management, personal injury, and/or return to work.
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategy development and ability to work with multiple stakeholders to align business strategy with organizational priorities 
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that impact the organisation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/ or industry accreditations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deliver engaging and impactful presentations.
  • Ability to recognise, avert, manage and escalate conflicts to effective and timely resolution.
  • Proven ability to articulate a customer centric culture and exemplify behaviours at all levels of the organisation.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, reporting and communication tools.
