The primary purpose of this role is to manage a portfolio of claims from inception to finalisation in accordance with both relevant regulatory and AAL requirements to always maintain a focus on strategic collaboration and case management to maximize return to work and return to health outcomes for claimants, consistently displaying initiative and leadership on a team and business level.
About the role
- Provide coaching and support to facilitate the development of skills in others and lead team and business projects to improve claim outcomes
- Make key liability decisions that are soundly based with demonstrable consideration to all relevant and reasonably obtainable information
- Build effective work relationships with a variety of key stakeholders, injured claimants, family members, legal providers, and medical professionals to drive successful outcomes
- Maintain high customer service standards and effective relationships with key stakeholders, demonstrating extensive knowledge of the business, industry, and the full range of our customers.
- Assess claims for reasonable and necessary treatment and rehabilitation requirements, identifying trends to allow risk management and improvements in processes, recovery, and return to work outcomes
- Assess and manage injury needs of claimants, handling correspondence related to CTP benefits, treatment, and rehabilitation and interpret medical reports
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant insurance guidelines, legislations and regulations, court decisions impacting claims functions and policy changes, recommending changes to AAL policies and procedures as required for continuous improvement and sustained compliance
- Proactively coach and mentor team members from within the business unit to support individual growth and close knowledge gaps
- Identify areas of opportunity to enhance claims practices within the business or performance of individuals providing feedback to relevant manager
About you
- Relevant industry experience in injury claims processes in insurance, legal, medical, or complex customer services
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment, providing advice and guidance to other team members
- Ability to plan and to prioritize effectively, organize tasks, and manage competing resources and demands
- Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision-making
- Pays high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and can quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information
- Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, databases, reporting, and communication tools
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
