New Allianz

AI Program Manager

  • Barcelona, SPAIN

Job description

About the role

Are you excited about shaping how AI becomes real, safe, and scalable in one of the world’s largest financial-services groups?

In this role, you will be a key driver of turning AI ideas into tangible business impact—not by coding models yourself, but by connecting the right people, clarifying direction, and ensuring that AI solutions are built responsibly and adopted successfully.

This is an opportunity to work at the crossroads of business, technology, and regulation, influencing how AI is designed, governed, and deployed across Allianz Group.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, data, risk, security, and legal teams to transform cloud-based AI capabilities into products that are trusted, compliant, and create measurable value. You don’t need to tick every box or master every tool listed.

What we value most is your ability to lead, simplify complexity, navigate stakeholders, and drive AI initiatives from concept to scale in a thoughtful, structured way.

What you do

Product & Program Ownership

  • Define the vision, roadmap, and priorities for AI products and automation programs.
  • Translate business, risk, and regulatory needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
  • Drive iterative delivery with engineering, data science, and platform teams.
  • Coordinate multiple stakeholders in a matrixed enterprise setting and support adoption and change management.

Enterprise Readiness & Compliance

  • Embed compliance, security, and Responsible AI principles from the very beginning.
  • Work with legal, compliance, information security, and model risk teams to ensure appropriate governance and controls.
  • Ensure that AI solutions adhere to internal policies and external regulations.

Technical & Platform Collaboration

  • Collaborate with platform and architecture teams to design scalable and reusable AI solution components.
  • Understand the fundamentals of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Databricks) without needing deep engineering expertise.
  • Help shape requirements for observability, supportability, and operational robustness in production environments.

Value Realization & Risk Management

  • Define and track success metrics (adoption, efficiency, risk reduction, user satisfaction).
  • Identify and manage risks across technical, operational, and regulatory dimensions.
  • Communicate progress and risks effectively to senior stakeholders.

What you bring

  • Experience as a Product Manager, Program Manager, or similar role within data, technology, or AI domains.
  • Background in large enterprises or regulated industries is a plus (not mandatory).
  • Experience moving AI/ML or analytics use cases from concept to adoption (production or scaled rollout desirable).
  • You don’t need to be an expert engineer; we value technical fluency and the ability to engage confidently with engineers.

Desired (not required):

  • Familiarity with cloud AI and data platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Databricks.
  • Ability to discuss concepts like data pipelines, APIs, MLOps, observability, or integration patterns.
  • Interest or experience in how regulation, privacy, and model risk affect AI products.
  • Ability to translate regulatory expectations into practical product features.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across different organizational levels.
  • Clear communication and ability to simplify complex AI topics.
  • Structured, outcome-oriented mindset with ownership and delivery focus.

What we offer

  • We offer a hybrid work model which recognizes the value of striking a balance between in-person collaboration and remote working incl. up to 25 days per year working from abroad.
  • We believe in rewarding performance and our compensation and benefits package includes a company bonus scheme, pension, employee shares program and multiple employee discounts (details vary by location).
  • From career development and digital learning programs to international career mobility, we offer lifelong learning for our employees worldwide and an environment where innovation, delivery and empowerment are fostered.
  • Flexible working, health and wellbeing offers (including healthcare and parental leave benefits) support to balance family and career and help our people return from career breaks with experience that nothing else can teach.
