Job Purpose/Role:
This diverse role exposes you to the different facets in Allianz Direct’s (Re-)insurance Accounting function. You will contribute to managing the insurance accounts for Allianz. Within this responsibility you will be exposed to processing (re-)insurance related data, to handling the financial accounts, to performing data quality controls and data analysis as well as to serving our stakeholders in all insurance accounting related matters. In addition, you will contribute to Allianz Direct’s monthly and quarterly financial closing in line with German Accounting principles, IFRS 17 as well as Solvency II.

Key responsibilities:
· Manage and steer the insurance accounting data of AZ Direct
· Data quality assurance and analysis, and provide transparency to management
· Calculate German GAAP specific provisions
· Timely reconciliation of insurance receivables and payables
· Validate data to be reported to reinsurers
· Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including analysis and clarification of intercompany differences
· Apply internal as well as external accounting & reporting standards incl. German Accounting principles and IFRS
· Define accounting requirements for new products and test implementation
· Contribute to projects and initiatives on demand
· Very close collaboration within the whole accounting function of AZ Direct, with actuaries and Allianz RE as major reinsurer
Qualifications/Key skills:
· Ability of developing and applying operational excellence incl. process structure, process efficiency and process documentation
· IT literate including Excel at advanced level
· Excellent analytical skills, highly numerate and comfortable with quantitative analysis, with a good attention to detail
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Strong team player and ability to work with others effectively
· Strong organizational skills, ability to plan ahead and multi-task
· Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
Education & Experience:
· University degree in Business administration (preferably with the focus on accounting) or comparable education (Certified Accountant) and / or equivalent practical experience
· Experience in (re-)insurance operations and knowledge of reinsurance terms and conditions, in particular with regards to technical accounts
