We are looking for a Property Underwriter based in Paris.

The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Property Underwriting Team Leader, you’ll play a crucial role in underwriting profitable new and renewal business. You’ll manage key client accounts (CAC 40 and SBF 120 , as well as working for clients in the Middle East in conjunction with local Allianz entities), negotiate terms, pricing, and participation, and work proactively with brokers and clients but also with claims, operations, engineering, distribution and the Regional Manager to build and strengthen these relationships.

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

·  You will underwrite profitable business, including new and renewal accounts, to meet growth and profit targets.
·  You will negotiate participation, pricing, and terms with brokers to secure profitable deals.
·  You will manage capacity to ensure strategic use of resources.
·  You will assess and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, understand catastrophe models, and interpret scenarios.
·  You will ensure compliance by underwriting in line with governance frameworks and maintaining contract certainty at policy inception.
·  You will collaborate with Market Management to acquire new business and retain existing clients.
·  You will build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and stakeholders such as risk managers.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

·  Experience in underwriting or broking profitable Property business is preferred, but we will also consider candidates with insurance experience wishing to move into the Property line of business.
·  You know the French property insurance markets and competitive landscape.
·  You have an understanding of legal and regulatory requirements in the insurance industry.
·  You have skills in risk assessment, including evaluating exposures and natural hazards.
·  You have experience analyzing performance against benchmarks to drive improvements.
·  You are familiar with the policy administration cycle, including information collection, policy issuance, and credit control.
·  You have great communication skills in French and English and are able to conduct commercial negotiations.
