Role Description
Reporting to the Head of Communications, this role is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and management of all corporate events for Allianz UK, including employee events, broker events, and corporate hospitality arrangements – with the aim of building trust, engagement and connection to Allianz UK business strategy, plan, performance and senior leadership.
This role ensures that all events comply with the Allianz UK Corporate Hospitality and Gifts and Entertainment functional rules. You will lead a team of communication professionals and work closely with the Allianz UK CEO and Executive Committee, plus other senior business stakeholders, to ensure that all messaging at events is consistent, clear, and effectively disseminated. It will work closely with head of editorial planning and digital, head of external communications, head of events, and Group Communications, to bring to life our values, culture and brand and present our expertise through high-impact and integrated communication campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with Allianz UK's business goals and brand values. Plan and oversee the execution of a diverse range of events, including large scale employee activities, broker events, and corporate hospitality. Establish event objectives, budgets, and timelines, ensuring all events are delivered on time and within budget.
· Act as the primary point of contact for all event-related inquiries and issues, providing timely and effective resolutions and lead the end-to-end management of events, including venue selection, vendor management, logistics, and on-site coordination. Ensure high standards of event delivery and attendee experience, maintaining a consistent and professional corporate image.
· Work in partnership with the head of editorial planning and digital channels (plus head of employee communications and/or head of external communications as required) to create event materials, including invitations, programs, signage, and promotional content.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as venues, suppliers, and event agencies.
· Ensure all events comply with Allianz UK's Gifts and Entertainment rules, as well as any other relevant policies and regulations. Maintain accurate records of event-related expenses, gifts, and hospitality, ensuring transparency and accountability. Provide guidance and training to team members and stakeholders on policy compliance and best practices.
· Develop and implement metrics to evaluate the success and impact of events, including attendee feedback, ROI, and brand visibility. Report quarterly on event performance, insights, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of event professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Set clear goals and expectations, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations. Encourage creativity and innovation within the team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

· Excellent understanding of event planning principles, logistics, and best practices.
· Demonstrable experience in corporate event management, with a proven track record of successful event delivery.
· Proven track record of influencing key stakeholders, presenting complex subject matter in simple, engaging ways to multiple levels with varied knowledge bases.
Desirable Skills and Experience
· Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent people management and leadership skills.
· Insight and analytical-led planning, strong skills in building compelling messaging and able to challenge and influence multiple senior stakeholders.
· Familiarity with Allianz UK's Gifts and Entertainment Policy and other relevant compliance requirements.
· Proficiency in event management software and tools.
· Leadership experience in a large multi-national organisation undertaking significant change and transformation.
· Experience of managing complex communications within fast moving regulatory environments.
Qualifications
· Degree level or equivalent.
· Professional qualifications e.g. CIPR
