JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
Your area
Group IT Diagnostics is a Group Center in the governance section of the Group Chief Operation Officer of the Allianz Group reporting directly to the Group Chief Operation Officer. It acts as a global steering function for strategic IT initiatives and decisions and their operational relevance. It ensures for the Allianz Group that the approved Operations and IT strategy is upheld in both operating entities and operational Shared Service entities. Group IT Diagnostics defines all processes which require specific governance and maintains the rule of the process. It makes sure all parties involved adhere to the defined governance frameworks.
Your unit
Group Project Portfolio Management acts as a global steering function for strategic IT initiatives and decisions and their operational relevance. The goal is to ensure for the Allianz Group that the approved Operations and IT strategy is upheld in both operating entities and operational Shared Service entities. Group Project Portfolio Management assess and ensures that the necessary quality gates are met with key programs under the ITCo governance and makes recommendations to remediate seen issues Group Project Portfolio Management acts as the single interface for H2 on all ITCO related matters. Group Project Portfolio Management defines all processes which require specific governance and maintains the rule of the process. It makes sure all parties involved adhere to the defined governance frameworks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive implementation of Group IT Strategy by monitoring and constantly challenging selected IT Projects (incl. transparency creation, issues identification & escalation)
Actively liaise with Project Managers to challenge and to provide guidance
Support preparation and presentations for the Group IT Committee, the IT Advisory Board and other internal stakeholders
Support the process for (re-)evaluation of the Allianz IT Project portfolio
Identification and assessment of newly-proposed IT Projects on Group and OE level
Further development and improvement of processes in Group Project Portfolio Management
Drive a regular alignment process with OEs regarding definitions, KPIs and processes through the IT Project Community
Throughout the Gap Year Program, you will have a 1:1 mentor within Group Project Portfolio Management who will guide you and provide regular feedback. Moreover you will attend multiple trainings, which will give you a broad overview about the insurance value chain in general and the operations and IT area in particular.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration with an additional focus/acumen for IT from reputable institution
Strong academic record
Fluent English, additional language is a plus
Excellent knowledge of MS Office
Experience
Practical experience in in IT related field is a plus
Practical experience in a big multinational company is a plus
Project Management experience is a plus
Controlling experience is a plus
International experience e.g. term abroad is a plus
Prerequisites
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Result oriented and attention to details
Highly self-motivated and reliable with a degree of confidentiality and courtesy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to foster relationships
Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus
Willingness to relocate to Munich
Willingness to travel
A written statement from the university about a subsequent education after 12 month
