JOB OVERVIEW:
As a member of the Finance Solutions – Health team, this role ensures accounting requirements are captured and delivered in company-wide change projects. The priority of this role will be to participate in numerous projects, both technical system projects and strategic new business implementations, representing the Finance Factory and Accounting teams ensuring requirements are delivered and processes documented.
This role will also participate in other Health Finance projects if required, providing accounting expertise and support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Accounting process specialist:
o Engage with the key teams in Core Accounting and Finance Factory (including Transactional Accounting, Middle Office Accounting and Reporting) to gather and understand Accounting & Financial Reporting requirements, processes, deadlines and key outputs.
o Participate in knowledge building sessions and job shadowing in order to document (process maps, procedure documents, overview documents) the accounting and booking processes
o As one of the Finance Solutions SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) participating in on-going projects, provide Accounting input to the various stages of IT projects, including Defining Requirements, Reviewing and signing off User Stories, Reviewing User Acceptance, Testing output, preparing process documentation to support Go Live and Run Mode
o Provide input on all aspects of insurance accounting including Premium, Claims, Commission, UPR, DAC, Reinsurance, Cash, Tax, etc; including specifying or confirming booking schemes (accounting postings)
o Provide input on the financial reporting requirements for data, eg requirements for regulatory or tax reporting
o Ensure accounting transactions are in line with Allianz and Allianz Partners accounting policies. Engage with Allianz Partners Global Office teams and Head of Accounting Policy where required
o Review and participate in user acceptance testing to ensure outputs from the system are as expected – eg postings and reports; and that the data transfers correctly into the accounting system (SAP)
o Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained to support the accounting requirements and decisions taken/approvals given.
Participate in other finance projects and team activities as required
o Support across the Finance Solutions - Health team, if required, with the onboarding of new arrangements (frontings, partnership, TPA etc) or new large clients. Support with the identification of booking scheme changes and related SAP requirements.
o Participate in process improvement projects where relevant to delivery efficiencies in the accounting processes
o Support other ad-hoc projects where necessary
o Actively participate in team communications and engagement initiatives
REQUIREMENTS :
To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills/ experience:
· 3-5 years’ experience in an Accounting or Financial Reporting environment, working in month end and quarter end closing processes and associated Financial, Statutory or Regulatory reporting.
· Demonstrable experience working in project mode – for example participating in system or process changes impacting the financial reporting
· Demonstrable experience documenting processes – for example preparing and updating SOP (standard operating procedure) documents; preparing and updating process maps/flows in visio; preparing process overview documents
· Reinsurance accounting knowledge is a distinct advantage
· Experience using SAP as the accounting tool is an advantage
· Educated to Degree Level; Business/Finance/Accountancy related
· Professional Accounting qualification would be a distinct advantage
· Highly numerate and have experience in complex reconciliation work with strong attention to detail.
