FINANCE ACTUARY (9 month Fixed Term Contract) – FINANCE – SYDNEY, NSW

About the role

·  Ensuring timely delivery of the monthly and quarterly IFRS17 reporting process for key actuarial deliverables.
·  Identifying and reporting on material trends in key IFRS17 metrics.
·  Monitoring the implication of economic change drivers on asset liability management and solvency.
·  Contributing to the development, improvement, and implementation of actuarial reporting process and risk identification.
·  Contributing where relevant to broader AAL projects and initiatives.
·  Consulting with stakeholders to analyse the contributions and value of strategic actuarial projects. Stakeholder groups include offshore and onshore colleagues.

 

About you

·  Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline
·  Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) or equivalent
·  Experience in SAS is essential.
·  Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision making.
·  Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·  Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with specialised systems, software, databases, presentation, reporting and communication tools
·  Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with clients, intermediaries and service providers.
·  Ability to plan and prioritise effectively and manage competing resources and demands.
·  Comprehensive understanding of organisational financial frameworks and experience in general insurance reserving is preferred.
