Job role

In this role, you will work as a member of the team working for CFO Actuarial team at Allianz Commercial.

Within CFO Actuarial your team is responsible for the delivery of the models for insurance losses, e. g. the actuarial best estimate of the loss ratio, which is used for planning, pricing and business steering. The modelling includes parametrization of very large losses using heavy-tail distributions.

What you will do

• Gather, clean and analyze data from multiple sources to support loss modeling process.
• Develop, maintain and optimize SQL stored procedures, schemas, and queries to support data extraction, transformation, and dashboard creation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new dashboards and reporting tools that provide business insights to management and stakeholders to support strategic decision making.
• Monitor and analyze monthly and quarterly financial data to support accurate modelling of the Normalized Loss Ratio (NLR), a KPI provided by CFO Actuarial.
• Estimate the expected profitability by line of business and regions,  identify the underlying drivers of losses, and thus give support and direction to business units looking to enhance the quality of Allianz Commercial’s insurance portfolios.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of Allianz Commercial’s capital model by providing accurate data input and analysis.

What you bring

• 1-3 years of experience as a data analyst, preferably within the financial or insurance sectors.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Applied Statistics, Data or Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics or related field.
• Demonstrated analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in SQL and Excel is a must; experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI is advantageous.
• Strong foundation in statistical or actuarial analysis is preferred.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to build strong working relationships.
• Experience in creating impactful data visualizations for stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with technical team members and stakeholders.

You have

• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with VBA or other programming languages (Python, R) - nice to have.
• A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development, with a keen interest in the insurance industry;
• Willing to work in an international environment, previous experience of working with colleagues located in different countries is an advantage;
• A passion for data-driven decision making and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
