Job description

We are looking for a Database Engineer / Data Engineer to join our teams and contribute to the modernization and optimization of our data and analytics landscape.

Scope of Work:

Support the migration and decommissioning of legacy systems and related technologies, reducing complexity and improving efficiency.
Migrate functionalities and data to modern platforms, enabling advanced analytics and ensuring scalability.
Design and maintain robust database structures that support both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals.
Build solutions that ensure smooth data collection, storage, and exploitation, with the capacity to process large volumes of data efficiently.

Profile Sought:
A Database Engineer / Data Engineer is capable of:

1. Defining data requirements and designing logical/physical database models.
2. Implementing scalable databases and data pipelines to support transformation initiatives.
3. Leveraging modern data technologies such as Spark, NoSQL, and Hadoop.
4. Establishing database operations processes, including monitoring, change control, and disaster recovery.
5. Ensuring data solutions are reliable, consistent, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Support migration from legacy technologies to modern platforms.
Ensure database stability, scalability, and performance monitoring.
Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to deliver secure and high-quality data solutions.
Promote continuous improvement and innovation in data engineering practices.

Technologies Covered:
Cloud, Mainframe, SAS, Oracle, ETL, Microstrategy, PowerBI, Python, Spark, Cobol, JCL, PL/SQL, Data Stage.

Expected Competencies:

Experience in database modeling, design, and migration.
Strong knowledge of both traditional and modern data technologies.
Ability to manage large-scale data processing and optimize performance.
Analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps ways of working.
