We are looking for an Account Technician in Global Business Operations team, based in Tokyo.
Your Team

The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Local Head of Global Business Operations, you will offer a streamlined and efficient service in managing administrative tasks for underwriting, accounts, claims, credit control, and broker/client relations. You will also handle system and process updates as Allianz Commercial works to harmonize its operations, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate implementation of changes.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Client Engagement:
· Direct engagement with end insureds and brokers is required for this client-facing role as supports UW and ensures end to end client servicing expertise for policy administration activities.
Account Management support for UW:
· Responsible for supporting UW production by reviewing and interpreting source underwriting materials regarding completeness of required information - slips, underwriting files and accounts / loss history – including interactions with Brokers in case of missing information.
· Acting as SME for resolving an GBO AT queries and ensuring complete and accurate handling of the account from GBO.
· Perform NB and RN submission and its related tasks. (e.g. credit checks, sanctions check, etc.)
· Accurately and efficiently populate front / mid Office IT system(s), (depending upon Line of Business) with policy data utilizing information received from all relevant sources.
· Use all relevant information to accurately and efficiently populate IT system(s) with new and renewed business. Invoice customers and produce all relevant documentation, (e.g. policies, certificates, endorsements) to broker (or client), co-insurers, captives and re-insurers. Compile of standard and non-standard policy wordings. Regular reconciliation and discussion of content with UW and broker/customer.
· Utilize product and process knowledge to offer suggestions and recommendations to CSU/UWs.
· Ensure accurate and timely handover of information to Offshore teams to support policy setup and bookings .
· Collect and provide relevant information for quotation to UW. Use or providing all relevant information to accurately and efficiently prepare policy-set up, binder and issuance as well as booking preparation for new and renewed business. Compile or creating non-standard policy wordings and aligning with UW and Brokers. Preview of revised broker wordings compared to expiring. Provide suggestions to UWs.
Credit Control:
· Coordinate AQS requests and complex queries with GBO offshore, credit control, brokers , UW, etc, to support resolution of reconciliation discrepancies. Regular monitoring and follow-up on receivables and policy issuance.
Workflow and Time Management:
· Proactively and collaboratively manage and prioritize workflow to ensure key performance indicators and service standards are met. Ongoing monitoring, maintenance and follow-up of all accounts in the respective responsibility and escalation, if required.
Technical Expertise:
· Support system UAT testing and other ad-hoc initiatives.
· Develop in-depth product/process knowledge in respective area / LOB to become an Expert in specific subjects.
· Support cross-functional projects on process harmonization and/or automation.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
· Excellent knowledge Microsoft Office applications and experience of relevant business applications and systems. Accounting experience in non-life insurance company.
· Ability to continuously develop technical and systems knowledge, business and insurance understanding.
· Good understanding of relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages.
· Advanced understanding of policy administration life cycle, including information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, cancellation.
· Commercial and Large corporate insurance experience, preferably client servicing.
· Experience working in a cross-cultural environment with strong collaboration skills and ability to motivate others to achieve common goals.
· Experience of policy administration in support of Underwriting.
· Japanese – fluent
· English – business level
