Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site (MMS)  is looking for a Flightline Avionics Technician to join our final phase team in Mobile, AL.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges:

Responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection prepare built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. This includes operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data. Proficiently operate and understand a wide variety of test equipment and tooling. Must be able to interpret technical manuals, drawing and engineering data to support tasks. Complete assigned tasks within the allocated man-hour budget and meet the guidelines of safety regulations, on quality and on cost. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

· 
Perform aircraft system Functional Test Procedure Test (FTP) / Pre /Post flight Daily Inspection (DI) check list/ prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness 

· 
Ability to learn new tasks and techniques in trouble shoot aircraft systems and support Flight line operation at Airbus FAL Mobile Flight line Organization. 

· 
Ability to perform and follow level 1 troubleshooting procedure and report / document findings precisely IAW recommended instruction. This includes performance of integrated systems testing, calibration, alignment, troubleshooting and repair of airborne electronic flight control, navigational and heating systems. Performs pretest, operational (functional) or final testing of electronic systems, components or subassemblies.

Performs final tuning, alignment or calibration of electronic systems, components or subassemblies. Troubleshoots electronic systems, components or subassemblies to determine nature of malfunction and corrective action required 

· 
Perform Post dock maintenance daily checklist/ Safety and security /Incoming inspection 

· 
Perform day to day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance family 

· 
Perform pre induction first flight configuration / incoming inspection cabin interior, cockpit, electronic bays to ensure safety and security before first flight 

· 
Set up and operate ground support and test equipment to perform functional flight tests of electrical and electronic systems. 

· 
Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assembles, using circuit testers, or volt meters. 

· 
Ability to verify and upgrade to the latest version of aircraft avionic software 

· 
Work closely with the systems engineer to interpret the flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems. 

· 
Maintain close working relationship with assigned lead person with regard to schedules,priorities, availability of parts, supplies and tools, and special instructions as required 

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities

· 
Basic knowledge of electrical/Mechanical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators, micrometers and powered/non-powered support equipment 

· 
Performs a variety of operations in preparing, sealing and testing , using a thorough knowledge of all aircraft sealing techniques, various sealant characteristics such as storage, application, tack-free and cure times 

· 
Capable of reading and interpreting approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures: AMM/IPC/AWD/SB 

· 
Participate in process improvement, root cause analysis, 5S, and all applicable tools for improving work load, quality, safety and reducing cycle time. 

· 
Participate in team daily SQCDP project and daily tool / FOD management 

· 
Ability to perform work in the confined space area, height condition and outdoor environment condition 

· 
Must be able to support and train other aircraft technicians with technical knowledge and skills 

· 
Maintain close working relationship with assigned lead person with regard to schedules, priorities, availability of parts, supplies and tools, and special instructions as required

· 
Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment in completing work assignments, and jigs/Fixtures with associated license, such as but not limited to: 

● Crane 

● Cherry-picker 

● Fork lift 

● Lifting platform 

● Loading platform 

● Knowledge of applicable regulations regarding confined space entry, respiratory protection, proper use of respirator 

● Ability to work under stressful conditions because of degree of responsibility 

· 
Other duties as assigned

Qualified Experience / Education / Training: 

· 
3 years’ experience with Applied Science in Avionics, A&P, or FCC license. 

· 
Ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate 

· 
Valid Driver License 

· 
Must be willing to work Rotation shift schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays 

· 
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport which allows unrestricted travel 

· 
High School Diploma or equivalent 

Preferred: 

· 
5 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment 

· 
EASA/TCCA Regulations 

· 
Valid A&P or FCC License 

Physical Requirements:  

· 
Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to  initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions

Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety  alerts and warning signals. 

· 
Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver  information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. 

· 
Equipment Operation : Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms.

· 
Carrying : able to occasionally carry up to 40lbs/18kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.

· 
Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 40lbs/18kg. 

· 
Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas. 

· 
Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings. ∙ 

· 
Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on  bottom shelves. 

· 
Confined Space : able to enter and exit a 12" x 22" passage and work through a 9.7" x 17.7" opening  while using a respirator within a confined space for various lengths of time.

· 
Heights: able to work at heights of approximately 40 feet on various types of platforms and lifts for  various lengths of time 

· 
Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.

· 
Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. 

· 
Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flightline and airstrips and  sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
