Job Description
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
· Assist kitchen staff in food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients as needed.
· Handle and properly store all food items and supplies to prevent spoilage and minimize waste.
· Support kitchen operations by collecting and disposing of trash, recycling, and food waste in a timely and hygienic manner.
· Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment, ensuring dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
· Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies, monitoring stock levels, and notifying supervisors of shortages or discrepancies.
· Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure efficient workflow and timely service during meal periods.
· Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members.
· Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, sanitation, and cleanliness at all times.
· Provide assistance during special events, banquets, and catering functions as required, including setup, breakdown, and cleaning duties.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent education required; additional culinary or hospitality training is advantageous.
· Prior experience in a steward or kitchen assistant role within the hotel industry preferred.
· Knowledge of proper sanitation and safety practices, including food handling procedures and cleaning techniques.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
