Job Description
An exceptional opportunity presents itself for a Shift Engineer to join the Engineering Department at Raffles London at the OWO.
Reporting into the Director of Engineering, you will be an experienced, accredited engineer, you will work with our Chief Engineer to ensure the highest standards of maintenance, quality and safety — responsible for preventative maintenance work, regular safety and maintenance inspections across our rooms, suites, restaurants, bars, guest facilities and back-of-house areas, carrying out remedial work on all mechanical and electrical equipment across our site as required.
Specifically, as the Shift Engineer, your responsibility’s will include:
· Ensuring that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately and rectified.
· Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and BOMB procedures.
· Emergency procedures are rehearsed regularly with attendance records, implemented and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.
· Ensuring the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises, by strict adherence to existing laws, statues and applicable ordinances, and by anticipating possible and probable hazards and conditions and either correcting them or pre-planning a defence against them.
· Stimulating and encouraging a general awareness of Health and Safety in relation to all tasks and activities undertaken in the department.
Who are we looking for?
· A proven track record and ability to provide high levels of service under pressure.
· Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken.
· An understanding and willingness to contribute to a 24h operational schedule when required.
· Trade or Engineering apprenticeship
