Job Description

1.       Informs on a daily basis the Pastry Chef on all relevant information on operational and        personal matters.

2.       Sees to it that all Pastry items for restaurants, banquets and special functions are   prepared on time and meet quality and quantity standards.

3.       Prepares on daily basis Pastry requisitions as assigned.

4.       Maintaining of cleanliness in all assigned areas, including refrigerators and freezers.

5.       Performs duties common to position and other duties as maybe assigned.

6.       Controls cost by minimizing spoilage, waste, proper storage and exercising strict     portion control.

7.       Preparation of assigned lunch and dinner buffets, special functions, banquets and   restaurants supply.

8.       Ensure that Mövenpick cost control policies and procedures are followed.

9.       Produce all products according to Movenpick recipes.

10.     Tests all food before it is served.

11.     Attends training sessions.

12.     Reports any equipment on the section which needs repair or maintenance.

13.     Checks function sheets, daily menus, promotions

14.     Ensures freshness and suitability of products used by the section and that they are             stored properly.

15.     Ensures smooth running of the section during direct supervisors absences.

Qualifications

 

·  Diploma\Certification in a Culinary discipline required
·  Working knowledge of sugar work/chocolate skills an asset
·  Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
·  Highly responsible & reliable
·  Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
·  Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
·  Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
