Job Description

* To repair and carry out preventive maintenance of electrical, mechanical, rotary and static equipment, piping works, hydraulic, pneumatic, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment, audio, visual and lighting and all property repairs through involvement and delegation to subordinates
* Repair and maintain all mechanical equipment, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, calorifiers, fresh air supply and exhaust air fans, rubbish bin, trolleys, wheels, all mechanical fittings, sprinkler, hose reel and wet riser system.
* Install or repair meters, starters, switchgears, fitting, wiring, vacuum machines, cables and all electrical and gas operated machine throughout the hotel.
* Inspect and replaced all fused lamps inside and outside the hotel including grounds, gardens and swimming pool light.
* Report and maintain television sets, antennae, signal booster and amplifiers.
Operate and maintain in good working order sound and slide projectors, spotlights, tape recorders, DVD/VCD/CD players, amplifiers and microphones.
* Responsible for replacement of all fuse and bulbs, safe custody of lighting and sound equipment in designated areas.
* Coordinate and liaise with operations in operating lighting, sound and visual equipment.
* Observe and report any equipment, switchgears or wiring which are not functioning properly and rectify them.
* Observe, report and repair any unusual signs, sound pressure, temperature or equipment, which are likely to lead to malfunction.
* Check and conduct weekly test run generator set and also battery water level, engine oil, indicator water etc.
* To maintain daily log sheets for reading of temperature and pressures of electrical, air-conditioning system, water supply and boiler system.
* To check stock level of engineering materials.
* To submit monthly reports for the works completed and outstanding in the hotel.
* Supervise and ensure correct enforcement of meal and break periods for maintenance personnel during operational duty in accordance with the hotel’s regulation.
* To attend weekly maintenance meetings with Director of Engineering, Assistant Chief Engineer and other senior members.
* Coordinate and report to Maintenance Officers, on job assignment and inform them of movement to enable easy and quick locate in case of emergency
* To perform duties of safety and fire operation drill when and where the need arise.
* Assist in keeping workshop areas, plant room and other equipment rooms clean at all times.
* Respond promptly and positively to all guest requests, even if it does not directly concerned the department or job scope
* Participate in the annual fire evacuation drill exercise / building inspection conducted by OSH Committee.
* Perform other duties as required.
