Job Description

Colleagues Wellbeing Executive  will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hostel, providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the colleagues. This role combines housekeeping, maintenance, and administrative duties to maintain the hostel's overall function and guest satisfaction.

 

1. Hostel Security & Safety:

·  Security Monitoring: Regularly inspect the premises for safety issues, ensure security systems (like locks, alarms, cameras) are functioning properly.
·  Emergency Procedures: Be familiar with emergency procedures (fire evacuation, first aid) and ensure guests are aware of them upon check-in.
·  Lock & Key Management: Ensure rooms are locked when not in use and maintain proper key management procedures.

 

2. Maintenance & Facility Upkeep:

·  Routine Inspections: Perform routine inspections of facilities (bathrooms, kitchen, rooms, public areas) to identify maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, electrical, appliances).
·  Minor Repairs: Carry out minor repairs like fixing leaky taps, changing light bulbs, or addressing other small issues.
·  Report Maintenance Issues: For major repairs, promptly report issues to the appropriate maintenance team or supervisor.

 

3. Inventory & Supply Management:

·  Supplies & Stocking: Ensure common areas (e.g., bathrooms, kitchen, lounge) are fully stocked with necessary items like toiletries, cleaning supplies, and kitchen essentials.
·  Inventory Control: Keep an inventory log of supplies and request replenishment from management as needed.

 

4. Cleaning and Hygiene Standards:

·  Common Areas: In addition to individual rooms, ensure that common areas (e.g., kitchens, lounges, hallways) are cleaned regularly.
·  Shared Bathrooms: Pay particular attention to shared bathrooms and facilities, ensuring they are sanitized frequently throughout the day.
·  Laundry Facilities: If the hostel offers laundry services, ensure machines are in good working order and provide guests with instructions on use.

 

5. Administrative Tasks & Record Keeping:

·  Daily Logs: Maintain a daily log of maintenance, cleaning tasks, guest check-ins/outs, and other important activities.
·  Incident Reporting: Document any incidents, complaints, or unusual occurrences and report them to management as required.

 

6. Environmental Sustainability (Optional):

·  Waste Management: Ensure waste is sorted properly (e.g., recycling, composting) and that all bins are emptied regularly.
·  Energy Conservation: Implement energy-saving practices, such as ensuring lights and appliances are turned off when not in use.
