Job Description
• Constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining wooden fixtures, furniture, and structures throughout the hotel such as doors, windows, cabinets, shelves, counters, and decorative elements. • Ensuring that all carpentry work meets quality standards, building codes, safety regulations, and hotel brand guidelines. • Collaborating with interior designers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and execute carpentry tasks accordingly. • Selecting and procuring appropriate materials, tools, and equipment needed for carpentry projects while adhering to budgetary constraints and sustainability goals. • Identifying and resolving issues related to wooden structures, fixtures, and furniture to maintain a safe and functional environment for guests and staff. • Creating custom carpentry pieces to fulfill specific guest requests or to enhance the hotel's unique aesthetic appeal. • Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries during carpentry work. This includes proper handling of tools, materials, and equipment, as well as maintaining a clean and organized workspace. • Collaborating with other maintenance staff members to coordinate tasks, prioritize work orders, and ensure timely completion of projects. • Maintaining accurate records of carpentry work, including project specifications, materials used, work hours, and any relevant maintenance or repair history. • Providing courteous and professional assistance to hotel guests and staff members regarding carpentry-related inquiries, requests, or concerns.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in various woodworking techniques, including cutting, shaping, joining, and finishing wood to create functional and aesthetically pleasing structures and furnishings. • Familiarity with a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment, such as saws, drills, routers, sanders, planers, and chisels, and the ability to use them safely and effectively. • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards relevant to carpentry work to ensure compliance and safety in all projects. • Ability to select appropriate types of wood and other materials for different projects based on factors such as durability, appearance, and budget, and skill in handling, storing, and preserving these materials properly. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and other construction documents to understand project specifications, dimensions, and requirements accurately. • Ability to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot issues related to wooden structures, fixtures, and furnishings, and develop effective solutions to address them efficiently. • Keen attention to detail to ensure precision and accuracy in measurements, cuts, and assembly processes, resulting in high-quality finished products
