This payroll position and finance requires someone with payroll proficiency in a corporate environment. This position will assist the Sr. Payroll Analyst in the weekly payroll process in accordance with State and Federal laws and Volvo’s internal standards.
Additional tasks include identifying inconsistencies, improvement opportunities, and quality assurance throughout the payroll process.
As the for the financial part, you have the overall responsibility to support the business and the commercial controller for projects follow-up. You work closely with the organization and make sure to respect the financial policies & procedures.
Responsibilities:
Payroll:
• Proactively communicate with managers to ensure the receipt of all information required for payroll processing in a timely manner.
• Generate reports, review for accuracy of payroll data, and coordinate necessary corrections with responsible departments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and practices
• Complete reconciliations of payroll (hours, earnings, & deductions) between time and attendance system and payroll processing system prior to and after submission
• Research, analyze and resolve outstanding payroll issues by collecting and analyzing information and identifying trends
• Develop suggestions for improving payroll processes and policies, preventing future inconsistencies, and ensuring continuous improvement
• Perform any other payroll-related functions as directed by management
Finance Analyst:
• Preparing commissions report
• Reconciling accounts, follow up on deposit, reconciling monthly invoicing
• Preparation and distribution of templates
• Ad hoc analysis spreadsheets and presentation
• Assist in development and implementation of new analysis tool.
• Support business - financial acumen
• Hands on in the day-to-day business
Skills:
• Ability to set priorities, manage time and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills: has proven capacity to exercise independent judgment and willingness to make critical decisions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels.
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of payroll experience processing multi-state payroll in Payroll Specialist role or equivalent preferred
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credentials preferred
• Experience with Payroll applications such as SAP, DMS/TAMS or similar system
• Must have prior experience in roles requiring strong problem solving/analytical skills, prioritization and excellent service delivery
• College degree preferred
• Excellent communication and attention to detail are necessary for the role
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, strong Excel skills, graphic, Power point
• Power BI is a plus
