Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program
If you are up for the challenge of developing our future Operations and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!
During 15 intense and exciting months, our Operations Graduate Program will give you a holistic view of our operational and logistic activities, including both the local and global perspective. You will be working with the technologies of tomorrow, building the products of the future – electric, connected and automated. In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions.
You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several local and international on the job-rotations and work on business-critical projects developing your competencies for tomorrow. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts and our remanufacturing operations. In addition, you will gather with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.
We offer the opportunity for you to be part of our digital transformation, applying new technologies to connect and automate our processes. Together we work with AI, data science, machine learning, circular systems, virtual manufacturing and more, to build our full electric or autonomous products.
If rotational development, a global set up and designing the world of tomorrow are aspects you are looking for in your next job context, this position might be something for you.
Our Organization
Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), a division of Volvo Group, is one of the world's largest manufacturers of construction equipment such as wheel loaders, haulers, excavators and compact machines. Volvo CE is currently undertaking a major strategic investment to expand its global production capacity for crawler excavators. As part of this initiative, a directional decision is taken to establish a new production facility in Sweden. The project is driven by the need to meet growing customer demand, enhance supply chain resilience through localized manufacturing, and reduce environmental impact by minimizing long-distance logistics.
By joining this Graduate Program, you won’t just benefit from the development opportunities it offers — you’ll also be an integral part of the project team building the new Volvo Construction Equipment Excavator factory in Sweden, from initial concept all the way to a fully operational site.
This is us – your new team
The project team for the new Excavator Factory consists of engaged professionals from different parts of VCE, Logistics, Communication, People and Culture, purchasing etc.
We have an all hands-on deck mentality where the culture is inclusive and everyone’s opinion and voice matters, regardless of topic.
Main activities and responsibilities:
This isn’t just about building a new factory, it is about building a new culture. While we bring strength, experience, and proven methods from across the Volvo Group, this project gives us a unique opportunity: to challenge old assumptions, work across functions in new ways, and build a data-driven, forward-looking setup from the start. We will shape new ways of working, build a modern, inclusive culture, and create a setup free from old limitations. From systems and structures to collaboration and decision making, everything is being shaped with the future in mind.
In this role, you will support various project workstreams, including Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, People & Culture and Finance, by providing data-driven insights to help make informed decisions. Your tasks will include collecting and analyzing data from systems such as SAP, conducting cost comparisons, and supporting validation of different options.
You will also play an important role in general project administration. This includes maintaining documentation, preparing clear and visually engaging presentation materials, and helping to plan and facilitate workshops and meetings. Your work will contribute directly to the progress and structure of the project, supporting cross-functional collaboration.
Together, we’re not only constructing a site, we’re setting the foundation for how we want to work, lead, and grow into the future.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone at the early stages of their career, with a strong interest in data analysis, business processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
We are looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset and a genuine interest in modern manufacturing and data-driven decision-making. You enjoy diving into details, collecting and interpreting data, and presenting well-grounded scenarios and recommendations to support the project’s direction. With a structured way of working and strong communication skills, you can collaborate effectively across functions and contribute to both the day-to-day operations and long-term planning of the project.
You approach challenges with curiosity and an open, inclusive mindset, valuing input from others and seeing collaboration as a key to success. You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment where new ways of working are explored, and you're eager to learn and grow as part of a cross-functional team.
You communicate well in English, and you are not afraid to ask questions, take initiative, and learn as you go.
Required knowledge/experience:
· BSc or MSc in Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Human Resources or another relevant field.
· Fluent in English (spoken and written), Swedish is a merit.
· Good understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
· Basic awareness/interest of Industry 4.0 / “Factory of Tomorrow” concepts.
· Maximum two years of previous full-time working experience, prior to or after graduation. Work during studies are not included.
· Valid work or study permit for Sweden if not a citizen.
