Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program

If you are up for the challenge of developing our future Operations and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!   
 
During 15 intense and exciting months, our Operations Graduate Program will give you a holistic view of our operational and logistic activities, including both the local and global perspective. You will be working with the technologies of tomorrow, building the products of the future – electric, connected and automated. In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. 

You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several local and international on the job-rotations and work on business-critical projects developing your competencies for tomorrow. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts and our remanufacturing operations. In addition, you will gather with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Main activities and responsibilities:

We are looking for a true lean ambassador with a collaborative end-to-end mindset, who supports continuous improvement by encouraging new perspectives and sharing creative insights. As we work to enhance and harmonize our logistics flow, your engagement and commitment will be essential to our success. You will play a key role in supporting flow simulation, automation, and digitalization within our team, contributing to our journey toward delivering customer success. We need someone who can identify, propose, and lead improvement activities connected to physical and digital flows as well as optimize white collar work through digitalization and office automation. Finally, you may take the lead in designing new logistics flow or updating existing flow as new products are introduced.

Who are you?

We believe you have a degree in engineering or logistics with an interest in flows and lean. You have a strong interest in digitalization and data, being motivated to utilize these areas to improve processes and contribute to customer success. Most importantly, you are someone who can explore details while maintaining a broad, inclusive perspective. We are looking for someone with a reflective and solution-oriented mindset, who is comfortable rethinking current practices with creativity. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, managers, and other great co-workers within logistics and cross-functionally to find the best solutions. Personal credibility and integrity are crucial qualities for this position. You are a social person with strong communication skills that enjoys working with others in cross functional teams, and your focus is creating true customer value using analysis and data as a key enabler. Our new teammate has a winning attitude and a great persona, in combination with a strong record of accomplishment and references. Finally, of course you have an inclusive personality that values other people´s ideas.

Required knowledge/experience:

·  BSc or MSc in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or equivalent
·  Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing
·  Knowledge in Logistics principles
·  Knowledge in data and statistical analysis
·  Skills / experience in e.g. Python programming
·  Maximum two years of previous full-time working experience, prior to or after graduation. Work during studies is not included. 
·  In this truly global program, communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in Swedish & English.
·  Valid work or study permit for Sweden if not a citizen.
