Master Thesis: From Dealer behavior to CO2 impact on the Supply Chain
Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Group Trucks Operations (GTO). We are an organization of approximately 4,000 employees globally in more than 40 locations. Every day, we are delivering world-class operational excellence for our customers, based upon smart logistics solutions. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and JV’s. The scope for Service Market Logistics includes Flow Optimization, Inventory Management, Distribution Center operations, Customs & Trade, as well as the development of logistics solutions to ensure the highest possible parts availability, delivery precision and quality everywhere in the world. Your future team
Supply Planning & Dealer Inventory Management region Gent/EU plan the supply chain from suppliers to dealers in order to secure the best possible spare parts availability to our customers at the right cost, we are in charge of running Support Distribution Centers and Central Distribution Center Gent operations, and we also have in charge the relationship towards our dealers and market companies about service market logistics topics.
Who are you?
In SML we have developed tools to better measure the CO2 impact of our flows and operations CO2. As part of our organization mindset, we are working with continuous improvement and citizen development to improve our way of working and quality. Given the Volvo group ambition to be fossil free by 2030, we aim to take a step further in our sustainable journey by breaking down our flows emission from the end customer to our suppliers.
We are seeking motivated Master's students studying Data Science, Computer Science, Business, Logistics, or other relevant fields.

These cases could be used for increasing awareness to more action oriented. We would expect some concrete steps as well on how we can mature to connect C02 reduction to lean within supply chain.
