What you will do

As the Group Manager, Portfolio Management you will lead a team of highly skilled and passionate project managers responsible for the execution of the agreed product portfolio (projects/epics) and product/project quality activities for Vehicle Engineering. 

 

You will be responsible for:

·  Leading, developing & mentoring the Project Managers through coaching, recommending trainings, and employing best practices for consistency of delivery. 
·  Monitoring and communicating overall progress and health of projects
·  Organizing the Maintenance project into clear way of working and ensuring we are delivering according to commitments. 
·  Securing project milestones and leading deliverables (features/capabilities) across the department.
·  Assessing and mitigating project risks.
·  Networking with Vehicle Engineering (Management & Design Group Project Managers), Project Managers from other responsible departments, CPM management and CPMs. 

 

You will report to the Chief Engineer for Vehicle Strategy, Integration & Special Vehicle Development.

Our team, Vehicle Strategy, Integration and Special Vehicle Development, is a part of the Vehicle Engineering function for Volvo Group North America. Vehicle Engineering is a highly skilled and knowledgeable team with a customer focused mindset to deliver the highest quality products within the Conventional Range.

You actively encourage strong communication amongst your team and have a passion for developing people as well as technology. You are looking for a new challenge that will allow you to grow both personally and professionally.

 

Required

·  Bachelor of Science degree in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
·  8-12+ years of related experience.
·  Relevant experience in leadership and operational development.
·  Good knowledge of product development and related processes. 
·  Management, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills. 

 

Preferred
•    Master’s Degree in Engineering.
•    3+ years of previous supervisory experience of 7-10 direct reports.
