Job Description
As a Lead Computational Biologist at Scienta Lab you will lead high-impact research projects at the interface of deep learning, computational biology, bioinformatics and drug discovery & development.
You will be part of the R&D team and will report to Scienta Lab’s CTO and collaborate with external collaborators (academic medical researchers / pharmaceutical companies) to leverage EVA capabilities for translational research.
We value high-level coding and research and aim to develop a culture of continuous improvement in the team. We implement good practices to deliver production-ready software and top-tier scientific publications in these areas.
Main Missions :

Leverage Scienta Lab’s foundation model to answer medical and scientific questions to identify new biomarkers, therapeutic targets, drug combinations, indications expansions, and optimized drug development strategies.

Lead computational biology strategy of the company, by identifying technical advances in scientific litterature to support the development of our model, and its multimodal and cross-species capabilities.

Mentor junior computational biologists by providing hands-on guidance in computational biology methods and bioinformatics tools, guide them in implementing best practices for reproducible research and handling of complex and large multi-omics datasets

Contribute to the R&D team's processes and good practices. This entails actively participating in refining and optimizing the software development lifecycle, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery of projects. We expect you to actively engage in code reviews, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team.
Preferred Experience
Who we are looking for

Degree (PhD/Master) in Computer Science, Computational Biology, or Bioinformatics
·
You have extensive experience in developing machine learning models and statistical methods to solve complex biological questions with multi-omics data
·
You are familiar with deep learning frameworks (Tensorflow, PyTorch, Jax) and model training processes
·
Good command of coding in Python, and strong grasp of programming best practices
·
Professional working proficiency in English
