Siemens has a long history of providing end-to-end electric solutions for networks metering. We provide specialist and proven design capability, manufacturing, testing and commissioning in dedicated facilities. At our UKAS accredited laboratory we build high quality metering solutions for the precision measurement of energy in large capacity circuits. Our solutions are used by National Grid, major UK power stations, ABB, Alstom, Mitsubishi and others. In addition to our onshore credentials we also meter the energy generated by offshore wind turbines and naturally all of our work is independently verified.
Siemens Grid Software Project Services have a vacancy for a Workshop Technician at our site in Rochester, Kent.
You'll make a difference by
- Assembly and wiring of high accuracy metering systems into floor standing cubicles and wall mounted enclosures within a workshop environment.
- To follow general arrangement and electrical wiring diagrams to ensure wiring & assembly are compliant with design drawings
- To work safely in accordance with relevant safety rules, method statements and risk assessments
- To deliver high quality workmanship in a structured and organised way to support business targets and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for checking, testing and recording written results of completed work.
- Responsible for marking up drawings to as built status
- To use hand tools and wiring tools professionally and efficiently
- To work effectively within a team environment.
- Occasional site work may be required to support site installation activities
