Job description
Report to:
Manager, Information Systems
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining & support local IT infrastructure, provide IT support to Varian employees in Japan.
- Varian IT BPM team acts as a single point of contact for the IT service desk provider regarding services provided by Siemens Healthineers IT department. Interacts with both technical and non-technical personnel, monitors and enforce SLA’s and follow problems to resolution.
- Contributes to development of Varian IT BPM team by participating in global projects.
- Provide hands on technical assistance to Varian IT client, server and network systems.
- Perform day to day data center hands on administration duties.
- Perform machine builds and support PC refresh cycles.
- Implement & improvements of existing IT process.
- 3rd party IT vendor management and communications
- Independently handle assigned tier 2 calls. Be able to diagnose, analyse and solve complex problems and demonstrate
- Contribute to assigned projects. Attend conference calls and meetings with project team members from around the world.
- Resolve and respond to questions received via telephone or email meeting defined SLA’s.
- Maintain IT documentation on troubleshooting and technology, contribute to the knowledge base as required and ensure smooth hand over to third party Helpdesk provider.
- Manage IT assets, update inventory in IT ERP system, managing the complete lifecycle of a device, from procurement to disposal.
- Willingness to adopt a flexible work pattern. Occasional work to be done after business hours. Occasional travel required.
Required Experience, Skills:
- 3+ years of relevant experience and knowledge to support:
- Operating systems (Windows 10/11, 2022 Server, MacOS, iPhone iOS/iPadOS, Android)
- Personal computer and laptop hardware and configuration
- End user device PC, iPhone, printer, video systems support knowledge.
- Basic programming and scripting skills (PowerShell/VBS).
- Virtualization (VMware vSphere, Citrix XenApp, HyperV)
- Applications (Microsoft 365, Azure Cloud, MS Office 365, Active Directory, InTune MDM)
- Basic network troubleshooting (VPN, DNS, DHCP, LAN and WAN concepts)
- Language Skills: Fluency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken. Additional Asian language desirable
- (Preferable) Qualification in a completed apprenticeship in information technology (Vocational education)
- Microsoft Certified 365, Microsoft Certified Azure or Certified endpoint administrator associate is desirable or equivalent experience
