About Siemens Technology Department
Siemens Technology is the central in-house research unit at Siemens and as such occupies an outstanding position within Siemens' R&D facilities. It acts as a strategic partner to support Siemens’ business units with R&D services, protects the company’s intellectual property, coordinates the collaboration with top universities worldwide, and supports standardization activities in all business units and regions. Through its R&D activities in Germany, USA, Portugal, China, India, Japan, and Eastern Europe, Siemens Technology helps to secure the company’s technological future and strengthen its ambition.
Your mission will be…
UX/UI design is one of the key roles in current software development teams. Researching how the users use their solutions and being able to enhance those experiences is an integral part of the way Siemens creates and delivers their products. Taking deep dives into the habits of our users to learn about their struggles, needs and motivations. Our three main specialties under the UX/UI design umbrella are user experience design, user interface design and research. We value our designers to ensure design consistency across all platforms and products, and collaborate with fellow designers to constantly refine Siemens design language.
- You are an experienced UX Expert and will help to define digital offerings for our clients in all Siemens Business units worldwide. You are responsible for driving UX innovation with your expertise and integrate it into customer projects in an efficient way and become part of the UX transformation at Siemens.
- Participate and lead projects with Siemens businesses, including research & development as well as technical consulting in the broader field of UX.
- You will build up a Siemens-internal network to acquire projects that convert research results into business impact and maintain relationships to the business units within Siemens.
- The digital transformation is going on in the company and UX is playing an important role in this transformation process. Therefore, you should be able to fill in a key role in UX & IOT projects.
- Furthermore, you maintain projects with key universities and institutes to expand technology portfolio and jointly pursue public funding opportunities.
We are looking for someone with…
- You are an experienced UX professional with a background in psychology, behavioral science or cognitive science, ideally added with interest on business development and you have a bachelor’s degree or higher in these related fields.
- Moreover, you have 3+ years working experience. Identification of stakeholder and user needs and their transformation into business-relevant and value-added issues should be part of your professional experience.
- You have competencies in the areas of User Research, User data analysis and User testing and Evaluation or comparable fields in User analysis; ideally you have also training or teaching experiences in these fields. And you are fit and well trained in using qualitative and quantitative UX methods and familiar with standard UX process and
- The candidate should be familiar with the standard tools for UX research and evaluation like the wide range of user and market research methods and techniques, usability studies, field research, prioritization studies, user interviews, survey research, benchmark studies, etc.
- We expect demonstrable experience as a hands-on User Researcher and in measuring UX impact and driving organizational changes toward user-centered approaches. Solid portfolio of work demonstrating applied research, including experience integrating user research into product designs and strategy for enterprise B2B software, product suits or cloud platforms.
- Ability to generate user research artifacts such as personas, job-to-be-done, user scenarios, need statements to effectively synthesize and communicate results is needed. The characteristics of industrial UX is well-known and an essential part in your research approaches and selected methods.
- The job requires the passion to never-stop growing, respect and appreciation of each person’s uniqueness, willingness to co create and share knowledge, and good problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills. You need the attitude of a team player to become successful. Additional knowledge in change management would be an advantage.
- We are an international company. Fluency in English completes your profile. Good Portuguese language skills will be an advantage. German would be welcome but not a must.
- The work in international and remote teams and the integration of external design agencies should be daily business for you. You need the basics of project management to manage ongoing support for the projects.
- Your fascination for innovative technology and self-motivation, as well as your user-focused business mindset qualifies you for this position. You should have strong self-organization competencies, embedded in an agile company environment. For your consultancy work we expect strong analytic skills, good and effective communication competencies and a collaborative working style. You need the attitude of a team player to become successful.
