Training and Competency Co-ordinator

Siemens Wind Power has a fantastic opportunity for a Training and Competency Coordinator to join our team in Hull at our new wind turbine blade production facility.

The right candidate will have experience of working in a coordinator role, preferably within an apprenticeship and/or training environment.

You would be joining an existing team of two who execute the delivery of technical, legislative and specialised training for our blade production facility. Reporting directly to the Training and Competency Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination of our advanced and higher apprenticeship programmes and working collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver technical and business learning as detailed in the overall business and site training plan.

What are my responsibilities?

· Coordinate technical training for all professional and production staff identified through gap and skills analysis and meet legal and legislative requirements for DK and UK
· To support the development of accredited training courses to meet UK industry standards and awarding body criteria
· To deliver as required, on boarding inductions and in house training on an ad-hoc basis (dependant on subject specialism)
· Maintain paper based and computerised records in line with contractual requirements to ensure correct recording and completion of documentation both paper based and electronic
· Coordination and execution of the apprenticeship programme for higher and advanced apprentices
· To support ELT initiatives including placements intern and graduate programme, STEM and schools engagement
· To provide smooth and efficient processing of administrative requirements to enable continued partnership working with local training providers and other training partners
· To line manage year 1 apprentices during college education courses and factory rotation and conducts and maintains apprentice reviews in line with contractual obligations
· Act as the business representative for safeguarding and prevent initiatives as dictated by business and government policy
· To adopt the role of exams officer for awarding bodies and complying with relevant policies and procedures

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· Educated to GCSE level including English and Maths
· ICT at a minimum of level 2
· To hold a professional training and development qualification (PTLLS/DTLLS /C&G7306) is desirable or would be willing to work towards
· Experience of working in a coordinator role, preferably within an apprenticeship and/or training environment.
· Preferred experience of engineering apprenticeship frameworks
· Preferred experience of working with QCF and awarding bodies in England
· Experience of working with Microsoft packages inc Excel and Word
· Must be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and ability to work with multiple projects
· Able to work as part of a team
· Ability to work under pressure and have a can do attitude
· Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
· Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
· Ability to prioritise work load
· To continuously question the efficiency of processes and strive to improve these where possible

What else do I need to know?

· You would normally work an average of 40 hours per week, some flexibility is required regarding start and finishing times when preparing for or delivering training events
· There may be the requirement to visit our other Siemens Wind Power and training locations on an ad-hoc basis. This may include travel to other European countries.

Siemens recently announced that it plans to merge its current Wind Power and Wind Service organisation with Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa; this merger is currently underway and will result in a brand new organisation. It will be the single largest Wind Turbine organisation in the world and will be dominant across all global markets. Consequently, we anticipate that the role offered will transfer in accordance with TUPE to a new company that shall be part of this merger, currently targeted for 1st December 2016.
