Our new product development team is responsible for the development and implementation of stand-alone manufacturing test equipment (“testers”) that assesses the performance of electromechanical assemblies prior to installation into medical instruments or distribution to the service organization for repairs. Candidate must work with mechanical and electrical designers, software designers and verification/validation engineers to bring testers from concept through delivery. Candidate may support activities for the development of testers by third party supplier who develop testers on Siemens behalf. As an intern, initial assignments will consist of supporting more experienced project engineers eventually leading to assignment of independent projects of lower complexity.Candidate may have some minimal travel to other Siemens R&D and production locations during summer work periods to get exposure to existing tester implementations, the production operators, and production processes.

This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Tester Product Development Intern, you will be responsible for :

·  Mechanical or Electrical Design
·  Software Development
·  Fixture Design via CAD NX and Teamcenter
·  Tester assembly
·  Design drawing and specification document development or reviews
·  Verification and Validation (Software and Hardware testing)
·  Project Coordination
·  Financial Tracking
·  Special project support assignments

Required skills to have for the success for this role:

·       Availability: full-time (40 hours/week) in the summer, part-time (10-20 hours/week) during the academic year; Flexibility provided for summer vacations, class schedules and special events. 

·  Education: Candidates currently enrolled in college or university and majoring in Mechanical or Electrical engineering;
·  Rising junior and must be local to the Flanders, NJ area
·  Must have a minimum GPA requirement of 3.2 or higher
·  Strong knowledge in MS applications: Excel, Power Point, Word, Project

Start date: Summer 2020
