Job description

What are my responsibilities ?

Develop and document transmission engineering design details, detailed specification and design guides for transmission network system and ensure that all engineering and operational requirements are well met and implemented.

To provide Security, CCTV and associated telecom/networking infrastructure designs and specifications to relevant National and International Standards.

To report, follow-up and provide onsite support for Network Management team for any moves/adds & changes faults for all aspects of telecommunications. Documentation of telecom procedures and processes.

To review and plan for the schedule preventive and corrective maintenance work for all transmission and other telecom equipment.

Technical support to client for all telecom and security systems including not limited SDH, LAN, Telephone, CCTV, ACS, PAGA, UHF and Microwave systems.

Instrumental in preparation of engineering reference documents, service procedures and specifications

What do I need to know ?

Strong technical knowledge in major telecom and security systems including SDH, DWDM, PDH, LAN, Telephone, CCTV, ACS, PAGA, UHF and Microwave systems.

Expertise in Teclecommunication switches, networking, Fibre optic, telecommunication protocol

Strong knowledge about system components, SDH Network configuration, Traffic arrangement & configuration (subsystem traffic arrangement, point to point traffic, multi-drop traffic, interface with SCADA system), MS-SPRing configuration, clock synchronization & redundant configuration.

Good working knowledge of SDH Network Management (NMS functionality and alarm supervision), Add-drop traffic configuration, Ethernet port configuration, alarm management and troubleshooting techniques.

Good working knowledge of installation and maintenance of IP & Radio communication solutions to include, diagnostic testing and repair of analogue & digital radio networks and terminals (VHF/UHF) utilizing communication analyzers, system infrastructure, programming of terminals and on-site viability testing.

Network experience to include WAN, LAN, firewall, network switch technologies and video transmission on IP networks.

Must be capable of using a variety of test equipment to isolate, identify, and analyze equipment; troubleshoot issues and take appropriate action to resolve the problem.
