Technical Field Services Engineer

The Challenge

As a Technical Field Services Engineer you will understand and interpret specifications and engineer solutions to customer requirements.

You will operate under minimal supervision in compliance with required company standards, providing post-project installation & commissioning services along with ongoing site support and maintenance (including emergency support and preventative maintenance).

This is a diverse role which will provide you with the challenge of adapting to a variety of customers and demands, along with the opportunity to develop your professional experience and career.

Your core responsibilities will include:

· Compliance with quality procedures, processes and guidelines.
· Installation and commissioning support.
· Category 1 Project Engineering Delivery.
· Performing preventative maintenance activities.
· Provision of maintenance 24/7, including telephone support and emergency callout.
· Supporting (internal) customers – preparing & re-instating work areas for engineering activities.
· Establishing compliance with specifications.
· Assembling components to meet specifications.
· Installing products in assemblies.
· Configuring products.
· Interpreting technical specifications and drawings.
· Monitoring the use of test equipment, inspecting products and performing equipment testing.
· Diagnosing faults in products and assets both in-house and in on-site environments.
· Removing/replacing components or sub-assemblies from assemblies.
· Dealing with variations and defects in products and assets.
· Developing yourself professionally in your role and work with others.
· Contributing to effective working relationships.
· Identifying and suggest improvements to business processes and potential developments to engineering products/processes.

Who we are looking for

It is vital that the Technical Field Services Engineer is able to manage a variety of responsibilities with a diverse customer base. Success in this role will depend on a combination of technical and personal attributes.

We are therefore looking for an individual with the following experience/qualifications:

· HNC/HND Engineering qualified (or equivalent).
· Installation & commissioning of control systems.
· Emergency callout duties including telephone support.
· Fault diagnosis and resolution.
· Customer interaction/interfacing (ideally on-site).
· Proven experience and knowledge of relevant engineering disciplines.
· Experience and knowledge of engineering process at all stages of the engineering lifecycle.
· Experience of project engineering and engineering process.
· Experience with panel wiring and/or IET membership would be advantageous.
