Responsibilities and main tasks
The Tax Specialist Maghreb has overallresponsibility for the countries (Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco) taxcontrolling, strategic planning and compliance with local tax laws as well asSiemens internal policies. He/She is responsible for the design, roll out andongoing optimization of a 'One Tax Function' covering all Siemens entities in Maghreb.The Tax Specialist Maghreb is collaborating with and supported by Siemensinternal tax experts and external tax advisers in performing his/her role.
This role comprises as main tasks:
• Management of Tax Compliance for Siemensin Maghreb: Ensures compliancewith tax laws and complete, correct and timely submit of all Tax Returns aswell as payment of taxes in Maghreb. Management of Tax Audits.
• Management of Siemens Maghreb Tax Position: Review, manage and optimizeSiemens effective tax rate (ETR), tax payments, deferred tax, and tax losses.As a listed company, Siemens must report its deferred tax position.
• Effective Tax Risk Management: Review and proactively manage the taxgovernance process for Siemens in Maghreb.
• Strategic Tax Planning and Tax Optimization: Provide appropriate planning tocreate value within an agreed risk framework and to ensure Siemens business canbe conducted efficiently and effectively whilst being fully compliant with taxlaws. Manage and optimize tax advice for Business and M&A (investments anddisposals).
• Tax Co-ordination: Represent Siemens Maghreb tax within the internal global tax communityand responsible for complete, correct and timely tax reporting to Siemens AGfor group reporting. Coordinate with internal and external partners.
Location
The Tax Specialist Maghreb is located in Algeria,Algiers. Travels between the Maghreb and to Headquarter countries must becontemplated to ensure proximity with the business and foster collaborationwith internal and external partners.
Required Competencies
- Degree in Law, Finance or Accountingwith a specialization / focus on Tax
- Profound knowledge in Tax of Maghrebcountries comprising direct, indirect and international tax matters, which hasbeen developed in a tax advisory firm or in-house tax function.
- Strong understanding of taxaccounting (local and IFRS) for financial reporting purposes in in order tofollow/determine deferred tax position
- Multi-year working experiencecovering tax advisory, tax compliance and tax reporting aspects.
- High motivation, excellentcommunication skills, decision making skills, growth mindset, openness to workin international environment, ability to coordinate.
- Language skills in French and English,Arabic skills are a plus
