SoftwareEngineering Intern

(Research& Development focus)

Our mPowerR&D team is responsible for high-tech, innovative research and design for cutting edge IR Drop / EM analysis toolhandling very large VLSI design. Project assignments in this organization varygreatly depending on the business needs.

At times,students may:

·        Partnerwith senior design engineers to develop, modify, and implement softwareprograms

·        Researchand develop innovative algorithms to confront business challenges.

·        Createdocumentation from independent research findings, including white papers

·        Studentswho co-op with this team are typically assigned to a cutting edge softwareconcept, and are responsible for researching how this concept could beincorporated into the Siemens Software portfolio

·        Workon an interpreter for EM rule computation. This is new direction for EM rulecomputation engine involving complex logical and mathematical expressionevaluation and efficient handling of evaluation during execution of tool.

·        And/orwork on a distributed data server implementation to give mPower ability toimplement distributed data over remote machines.

OrganizationRequirements:

·        Studyingfor a Bachelor’s or Master degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

·        Upperclassman is preferred (with prior co-op experience)

·        Strongcoding skills in C, C++

·        Knowledgeof TCL scripting language is optional but good to have.

·        Studentmust be proactive, capable of setting their own timelines, able to workindependently, and disciplined

·        Rapidlylearn new development languages and coding techniques

·        Strongknowledge of object-oriented programming is a must

·        Understand the concept of class andinheritance

·        Sharpand tenacious trouble shooting skills

·        Unwaveringly passionate about solvingtechnical challenges

·        Creative, fast learner

·        Independent thinker and self-motivatedresearcher

·        Adaptable to new tasks with little leadtime


The hourly range for this position is $22.00 to$50.00.
