Software Development Intern

As an intern in Product Engineering Software (PES), you willdive into developing our premiere NX CAD software. You will have theopportunity to design, develop, modify, and implement software programming forproducts, with focus on surpassing customers’ expectations by achieving high qualityand on time delivery. You will be responsible for ensuring the overallfunctional quality of the released product on all required platforms andmechanism. You will also create, document, and execute software designs whichmay involve complicated workflows or multiple product areas.  While youwill work with general supervision on complex projects and have the opportunityto partner with senior engineers, it will also be important to act withindependent judgment when necessary. Projects will focus on the following maindiscipline:

-         NX development

• Use the Siemens CAD software, NX, for developmentwork
• Contribute to development of a state ofthe art joining solution
•    Experience with C++ and object orientedprogramming using an advanced development environment such as Microsoft VisualStudio in a non-academic setting
•   Assistin maintaining our existing software product by analyzing existing solutions anddebugging critical issues
•   Workwith others inside and outside development to understand business requirements andimprove our software
•   Ensurequality of our software product for our customers
•   Follow Agile Software Developmentmethodology
• Adhere to best practices in coding,documentation, test automation, and deployment

Organization Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering
• Command of C++ is required
• Competency with a scripting language such as Perl or Python is a must
• Familiarity with an advanced development environment is desirable
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling Software is a definite plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel PowerPoint) is assumed
• Passionate, driven, independent and proactive
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Effective organizational and time management skills 
•  Desire to learn about our business andproducts
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Seeks consensus and collaboration

The hourly range for this position is $22.00 - $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
