SoftwareDevelopment Intern

Siemens EDAis looking for a software development engineer to work as an Intern in theHardware Assisted Verification division (HAV).  HAV develops andmanufactures emulators for functional verification of System-on-Chip circuitdesigns.  In emulation systems, custom software compiles a circuitdesign's high-level description into a low-level binary representation that canbe loaded and run on the emulation hardware.  The individual thatfills this position will become a member of the emulator compiler specialistsdeveloping the compiler software for Siemens next generation emulators.

The SoftwareDevelopment Engineer will have responsibilities in the development andimprovement of the part of the compiler that analyzes the customer design inorder to map it on the emulator resources.  The individual willparticipate in the design and implementation of new functionality for this partof the compiler as well as support current functionality.  Thecandidate will work on high-level algorithm design, as well as on the “ones andzeroes” of the programmable emulator hardware.  The work will bemostly in C++ on Linux.  This position will include interaction withother software teams as well as HAV hardware teams in an international,multi-site, development environment.

While youwill work with general supervision of senior engineers on complex projects, itwill also be important to be able to work independently and make designjudgments when necessary.  We are looking for candidates who share apassion for tackling complex problems and developing innovative solutions.

Projectswill include:

·        Developingsoftware in C++ for emulator compilation functionality.

·        Developinginteractive debug tools in C++ that helps engineers to support customers fasterand more efficiently.

·        Assistin maintaining our existing software product.

OrganizationRequirements:

·        Currentlypursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree, in Computer Science, ComputerEngineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

·        Experiencewith developing and debugging in C/C++.

·        Experiencewith algorithm and data structure design.

·        Understandingof gate level digital logic design.

·        Knowledgeof scripting languages.  Python preferred.

·        Experiencein software development tools (Git, gdb, etc.).

·        Proficientin Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

·        Passionate,driven, and proactive.

·        Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills.

·        Effectiveorganizational and time management skills.

·        Desireto continuously improve and learn about new areas.

·        Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills.

Thehourly range for this position is $22.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety ofhealth and wellness benefits to employees.
