Student Intern - User Experience


JobDescription:

Seeking motivated,creative student who has a passion for User Experience (UX). The position is ahand’s on opportunity tolearn and contribute to a growing UX group. You will be working with a crossfunctional team that includes UX Engineers, Product Managers and Developersfrom across the globe.  Looking for afuture career in UX and wanting to build your skillset and gain experience?This could be the right opportunity for you.

Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct end-to-end user experience activities to supportinternal, business process improvement projects.
  • Support Agile UX design and development exercises within theorganization via related UX research, design and testing activities.
  • Take existing standards and guidelines and turn them into an onlinepattern library that can be accessed and adopted by a broad audience includingProduct Management, Development, Testing and UX.
  • Conduct UX research and evaluation methods, such as interviews,surveys, heuristic evaluation, and usability testing.
  • Develop user interface specifications, such as personas, interactiondesign, work-flows and prototypes.
  • Manage projects with tight timelines through completion. Report statusto management team on a weekly basis.
  • Communicate design rationale effectively to wide variety ofstakeholders within the organization.
  • Gather and analyze data from internal issue tracking system.
  • Develop, maintain and analyze customer surveys concerning the qualityof existing products.
  • Apply GOMS and KLM analysis to benchmark current product and toevaluate designs for future product.
  • Analyze and compare old and new versions of the software to measureimprovements over time.
  • Create wireframes and mock-ups to communicate your ideas to a broadaudience for buy-in.

MinimumRequirements:

  • Currently enrolledin a BS or MS program in Human Factors, HCI, Psychology, Visual Design or a relatedfield.
  • Solid understandingof user-centered design based on HCI, visual, or industrial design foundations.
  • Willingness to"wear multiple hats" and do different UX-related tasks in a teamenvironment.
  • Self-driven andcomfortable communicating ideas, with the ability to work collaboratively witha
  • cross-functionalteam.
  • Experience withinteractive prototyping tool. Expertise in Axure is highly desired.
  • Experience withvisual design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experiencesketching interfaces, creating wireframes, sitemaps, and/or prototypes.
  • Knowledge of web interfacesand considerations around mobile devices, usability, and accessibility.
  • Clean visual designsense.
  • Ability to work ina fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • A design portfoliothat demonstrates solid knowledge of UX and design principles is a must.
  • Familiarity ofFront-End Web Development (CSS, HTML, JavaScript).
  • Experience withLean and/or Agile development approaches.
  • Experience doingcustomer research and usability testing.
  • Technicalbackground is a plus.
  • Strongcommunication skills.
  • Ability to createexceptional user experiences for end users.

The hourly range for this position is $22.00 to $50.00.
