Energy, Process &Chemicals: Solution consulting & marketing intern
Our Industry & BusinessDevelopment teams are responsible for understanding customer problems, creatingsolutions, and communicating them effectively with industrial customers. As anintern, you will work with one or more industry lead in the area of fossil& renewable energy and chemicals in order to create and communicate thesesolutions. In addition, you will:
- Partner with technicalspecialists to develop, modify, and implement application examples intocommunication collateral
- Interface with selectedcustomer in order to understand technical and business challenges
- Create documentation fromindependent research findings, including white papers
- Learn about and apply varioustypes of simulation and modeling tools that can be used to solve engineeringproblems; both concepts and hands-on
- Students who co-op with thisteam are typically assigned to a cutting edge software concept, and areresponsible for researching how this concept could be incorporated into theSiemens Software portfolio
- Research topics have included: ComputationalFluid Dynamics (CFD), Discrete Element Method (DEM), Smooth ParticleHydrodynamics (SPH), System Simulation, Pipe flow network modeling
Organization Requirements:
- Studying for a Masters degree in Energy, Petroleum, Chemical or closelyrelated branch of engineering
- Strong communication skills
- Upper classman is preferred(with prior co-op experience)
- Student must be proactive,capable of setting their own timelines, able to work independently, anddisciplined
- Rapidly learn new methods andtechniques of engineering problem solving
- Strong knowledge of basicengineering physics and chemistry
- Understand the concept of problemsolving using simulation
- Sharp and tenacious troubleshooting skills
- Unwaveringly passionate aboutsolving technical challenges
- Creative, fast learner
- Independent thinker andself-motivated researcher
- Adaptable to new tasks withlittle lead time
The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $44.00.Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
