The Solution Architect has technical expertise in system engineering, systems analysis, definition and implementation of complete system solutions or subsystems for Rail Systems tenders. With clear understanding of the Siemens Mobility rail systems product and system portfolio and system related processes.
Using your expertise in conventional rail signalling (including CBIs), Train Control Management Systems and / or RailSignalling Testing & Commissioning, you will carry out the effort with support from relevant Subject Matter Experts (SME) for the analysis of the customer system requirements, design and definition of the system architecture, allocation of requirements to subsystems, development of system operational concepts, system technical performance measures, technical interfaces, coordination of the subsystems development and integration, preparation of the technical offer documentation, costings and schedules.
In this role, for tenders across states, customers and Siemens’ system solutions, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Responsible for the system requirements, architecture, design and the system concept of operations taking into consideration product characteristics (including those of non-Siemens products used).
- Continuous consultation with Engineering, Product and System Management about any changes to the system concept or design.
- Document and clarify all technical, performance, safety and operational requirements (e.g. interoperability).
- Analysis of customer requirements with respect to non-existent (loopholes in descriptions), unclear/contradictory or unreasonable requirements, compilation of any assumptions as a substitute for non-existent requirements, and negotiation of a timely, binding clarification of such requirements with the customer.
- Definition and control of the system technical development.
- Responsible for the internal technical approvals.
- Responsible for the technical deliverables and returnable schedules.
- Support the Bid Manager and provide technical advice to management and execution teams.

- You have an expert level of knowledge in conventional rail signalling, TCMS/OCS and/or signalling testing and commissioning.
- Technical leadership experience in different teams, good interpersonal skills.
- Experience in dealing with customers and colleagues from other cultural environments (inter-cultural experience)
