Position Overview:
Siemens EDA A Siemens Company produces leading functional verification products which include the QuestaSim family of high performance simulation products. These products play a critical role in chip design for industry leaders worldwide. Simulation design languages involve many aspects of computer science, programming languages and compilation, high levels of concurrency, operating system scheduling principles, and advanced user interfaces. Our simulation environments incorporate support for unified verification of designs developed in multiple hardware design languages (HDL) including System Verilog, VHDL, and SystemC.
With vast availability of advanced hardware, multi-core systems, software industry is now realistically looking forward to utilize parallel techniques with advances hardware system resources and improve performance of its products. We are looking for a highly motivated software engineer to work and innovate in the QuestaSim engineering performance team.
You will be responsible for all phases of software development in the QuestaSim product including, design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products (both internal and external) with focus on surpassing customer expectations, on achieving high quality and on-time delivery. Responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanism. Ability to understand complex products, solutions, and problems. Creates, documents, and executes software designs which may involve complicated workflows or multiple product areas. Provides input to the technical direction for one area of a product. Able to solve complex technical problems. Provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas. Works with minimal supervision on complex projects with wide latitude for independent judgment. Highly skilled with extensive proficiency and technical expertise.
Required Qualifications:
- MS/PhD in computer science or electrical engineering
- Candidate with 0-5 years of software development experience
- Excellent knowledge of C, C++ and experience with UNIX/LINUX platforms
- Efficient on developing/optimizing high performance/capacity optimizing software system
- Good exposure to computer science principals, complex algorithm designs, data structures and object oriented programming
- Can demonstrate strong analysis and problem solving skills
- Excellent programming and software engineering skills
- Exposure working on large sized software development projects
- Strong ability to learn, explore and innovate with new technologies
- Self-motivation, self-discipline and the ability to set and work consistently towards personal goals in a dynamic environment
Desired Experience:
- Knowledge of digital design and/or HDL languages (System Verilog, VHDL, SystemC)
- Experience in EDA software, like software simulation tools (QuestaSim, NC-sim, VCS etc)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (like PERL, Python)
- Understanding of OS process scheduling, Cache/Memory efficiency, MPI layer, Thread-safe programming/ parallel programming.
- Experience working with geographically distributed development team

The salary range for this position is $145,700 to$262,300 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actualcompensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location aswell as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, andrelevant education/training.
