This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build theirskill set and gain hands-on experience. As a Software Engineering Co-op, youwill be responsible for:

• May beinvolved in all aspects of embedded systems development, including requirementsanalysis, design, coding, testing and documentation of the motion control anddetector subsystems for molecular imaging cameras.  Includes safety critical motions, and mitigationsto prevent accidents across multiple axes of motion
• Will beexpected to write and test embedded software, execute written test procedures,document results, and to recognize/isolate system anomalies.
• Tasks includewriting code (C/C++) for embedded systems, troubleshooting, testing, anddocumentation of results. Coop will work with firmware and electrical engineersfor the motion control and detector subsystems, and assist with development andtest.
• Providesupport for system host emulator, as well as assist in the loading of softwarein the lab.
• Coop willalso help address issues arising from the Defect Handling Board, and may beasked to help out with certain administrative tasks.
• The purposeof this internship is to support the development and test of medicalapplications focused on molecular imaging (SPECT)

This position may suit you best if you’re familiar withthe following and would like to develop your skills

with Siemens Healthineers:

• Programminglanguages C/C++/Python
• Agiledevelopment processes
• Hands-on workwith electronic circuitry, cabling, etc.
• Duration: Typicallyincludes one term off from class plus summer, or a longer-term co-op assignmentthat can include rotations in school and at work, with some flexibility inscheduling specifics.

Required skills to have for the success of this role:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’sor Master’s degree program, majoring in Electrical Engineer, Computer Science,Computer Engineering, or similar program of study (minimum rising juniorpreferred)
• Minimum 3.2 GPA (preferred)
