Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for interns for our Software Engineering team in Wendell, NC to support our portfolio of business, products and solutions. 

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Design program features, write the corresponding code, and collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders 
  • Familiarize yourself with version control systems like Git, and the tools and technologies used in the business’ software stack 
  • Complete bug fixes by identifying and resolving issues in the existing codebase 
  • Participate in code reviews by reviewing code written by other engineers and providing feedback 
  • Investigate new technologies or tools that could be useful for the company 
  • Explore ways to improve the performance or scalability of the software product 

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student studying Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • Ability to report in-person to the Wendell, NC office in a full-time capacity without housing or travel/relocation compensation assistance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in at least one programming language (such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript)
  • A strong understanding of data structures (like arrays, linked lists, trees, etc.) and algorithms (like searching, sorting, etc.) 
  • Familiar with the software development lifecycle, including version control systems like Git, and how to write clean, readable code that follows best practices 
  • Experience with debugging code and writing unit tests to ensure the code functions correctly 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • The hourly pay rate for this position is $25.00-$30.00/hr. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
