Are you interested in a technically challenging and perspective-intensive activity with which you can make a significant contribution to the expansion of the railway share of freight and passenger services? Then join us and develop globally successful rail vehicles!.

The train only can run as fast as it can stop. As a software developer for the brake control system, you will ensure the vehicles come to a stop safely and efficiently.

You will be part of the engineering team for our international locomotive projects in Europe, Asia and North America. Our locomotives can reach speeds of up to 230 km/h and carry loads weighing several thousand metric tons.
You will find a team, where software and hardware colleagues work hand-in hand.
You will collect requirements and create software solutions for the drive/brake management.
You will develop project-specific software modules for brake control units with the help of a graphical development tool (continuous flowchart) and test it both in the laboratory and on the locomotive itself (test centers are available for this in Germany and the Czech Republic).
You will pick up market requirements and trends and derive from them the technical further development of the traction control system.
You will with your team on solutions for current design, new customer requirements, improvements and new functions.
You will always stay focused on the reusability of your results to foster our platform strategy. You will monitor budgets, costs and deadlines for your scope of activities.
In addition, you will put the results into practice to increase the efficiency and reliability of the vehicles.
You will have the opportunity to grow in this position. Various career development options will open up to you; either in a senior technical expert role or technical project management for example.

Your qualifications – solid and appropriate
You have a completed university degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, or another relevant field.
You have experience in the field of control programming and ideally in the field of driving / brake control.
You have basic knowledge of requirement engineering, configuration and change request management.
You have knowledge of the programming languages C, C++ or Python as well as in CFC programming with the help of a graphical development tool.
You have experience in the area of structured software development / Preferably railroad industry according to EN 50128/50657.
You like to work with complex systems and use a structured way of working, problem solving and documentation.
You are fluent in English (at least C1-level or equivalent). Additional language skills are an advantage.
You enjoy working with colleagues from different departments and locations.
Readiness for traveling.
